Fussa City, located in western Tokyo, is a hidden gem easily accessible from Shinjuku Station via the JR Chuo and Ome Lines. This destination is a must-visit for travelers looking to enjoy authentic Japanese gourmet, explore traditional sake breweries, and relax in lush Japanese gardens.
By taking the Chuo/Ome Line Special Rapid service, you can reach Fussa Station in just 46 minutes from Shinjuku. Even without a direct train, it takes only about an hour including transfer time at Tachikawa Station.

Located in a residential area just one block west of Route 16, this "US Military House" was built in 1958. It is a rare building preserved in nearly its original state. Originally a spacious three-bedroom home for military families, it was later used as a regular Japanese residence for many years. To preserve this history, Fussa City and the local shopping district collaborated to restore it, even matching the window sashes to the original 1950s style.
