Since the release of Pokémon Red & Green in 1996, Pokémon has been loved around the world, and this year marks its 30th anniversary. In this milestone year, the world’s first outdoor permanent Pokémon facility, PokéPark KANTO has held its grand opening inside Yomiuriland in Tokyo. In this article, we’ll introduce the highlights of the park, how to get tickets, and how to access it!
Introducing the Two Areas and How to Purchase Tickets!
Spanning about half the size of Tokyo Dome,PokéPark KANTO is made up of two areas, Sedge Town and Pokémon Forestnd, where over 600 Pokémon live.

1. Pokémon Forest
Pokémon Forest is a forest where wild Pokémon live. It features a lush walking path about 500 meters long, filled with varied terrain such as uneven grassy areas, tunnels, and mountain trails. The Pokémon living here are all full of life, running around, battling, sharing berries, and more. Each Pokémon has its own unique expressions, which is another highlight. At Pokémon Forest, take your time observing the ecology of Pokémon, mainly from the Kanto region! Some Pokémon can even be ridden on their backs. Try to find them!
*Due to stairs and steep uphill paths, children under 5 are not allowed to enter, even with an accompanying adult.
Sedge Town is a lively town where Trainers and Pokémon from all over the world gather. Just past the Primarina Fountain that welcomes you, you’ll find familiar spots from the games like the Pokémon Center and the Poké Mart. Just like in the games, you can heal your Pokémon and enjoy original drinks that help both Pokémon and Trainers recover from their adventures.
The original drinks include Squirtle’s Water Gun Drink, Charmander’s Ember Drink, and Bulbasaur’s Razor Leaf Drink. These three drinks are inspired by each Pokémon using its moves, and they can be purchased at the Poké Mart.
At the Trainers’ Market, rows of wagons line the street, offering fun goods to enhance your adventure and a variety of Pokémon-themed foods.
You can also enjoy two attractions in Sedge Town. Pika Pika Paradise is a ride powered by electric-type Pokémon. At the merry-go-round featuring Eevee and its friends, Vee Vee Voyage, you can enjoy the feeling of traveling around the world together with Pokémon.
There’s also a parade where Pikachu and Eevee march through the town, as well as a stage show at Sedge Gym. At the Pokémon Playhouse, you can enjoy daily rotating meet-and-greets with different Pokémon. *Some require a timed entry ticket after entering Yomiuriland.

From Keio Line Keiō YOMIURILAND STATION
Taking the gondola Sky Shuttle is recommended. (About 5 to 10 minutes)
If using the bus, take the Odakyu Bus (Route Yomi 01) bound for Teraodai Danchi via Yomiuriland-mae Station for about 10 minutes. Get off at Yomiuriland, right near the entrance.
From Odakyu Line YOMIURILAND-MAE STATION
Take the Odakyu Bus (Route Yomi 01) bound for Keiō yomiuri-land Station for about 10 minutes. Get off at Yomiuriland, right near the entrance.
From Odakyu Line SHIN⁻YURIGAOKA STATION
From bus stop No. 4 at the south exit, take the Odakyu Bus (Route Shin 07) bound for Yomiuriland for about 20 minutes. Get off at Yomiuriland, right near the entrance.
