This is one of the three major festivals in Japan. Crowds carrying huge, dazzling portable shrines is a sight to see.
This festival is held by Kanda Shrine, where the god of commerce is enshrined. Costumed crowds parade the streets around three dazzling portable shrines. Long ago, the shogun living at Edo Castle would look forward to this festival with excitement.
