Gion Festival

祇園祭

 

 

This representative Japanese festival boasts 1100 years of history.

Held in July in Kyoto. Yamaboko floats are decorated with art and tapestries and parade the streets of Kyoto. Floats weighing up to 12 tons being piloted by shouting participants is truly a sight to see.
