Toshodai-ji Temple

唐招提寺

 

 

The thousand-armed Kannon statue is truly impressive.

This temple was built in the 8th century by Jianzhen, who was a monk from China, as a place to practice Buddhism. It is a beautiful temple with historic National Treasure structures surrounded by nature. A number of interesting Buddhist statues can be found within.
