This shrine is home to the god of scholarship and is visited by people from throughout Japan.
Sugawara no Michizane, known as the god of scholarship, is enshrined here. There are also spots within the shrine ground known to be beneficial for warding off evil, bringing happiness in marriage, and ensuring safe travels.
