This lake, along with the scenery reflected upon its waters, is a symbolic presence in Yufuin. Hot spring waters bubble up from the bottom of the lake, and the waters are a comfortable 21℃ even in winter. When the weather is good, fog gathers on the waters in the morning to create a magical scene.
