Shibamata Taishakuten(Kyoeizan Daikyoji Temple)




Its highlights are the various halls and garden decorated with numerous wood carvings

A temple said to have been established in 1629, the discovery of Ita Honzon in 1779, which had gone missing, became the trigger for an increase in visitors from Edo and activity. It is famous for being the stage of a hugely popular Japanese movie.

HOURS 9:00am-6:00pm (hall closing time), 9:00am-4:00pm (for the carving gallery and Suikeien Garden)
CLOSED The garden is closed from December 28th to January 3rd. The carving gallery is open
COST Free to enter/entry to both Suikeien and the carving gallery: 400 yen for adults, 200 yen for elementary and middle school students/
