This historical shrine holds the Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival.

Said to have been built in 757, this shrine has been popular with locals since long ago. Hakata Gion Yamakasa - one of the largest festivals in Fukuoka - is held here. The impressive Yamakasa floats are on display year-round.
