Kofuku-ji Temple

興福寺

Home of the statue of Ashura - one of the most beautiful Buddhist statues in Japan.

These temple grounds are home to a number of National Treasure structures, including the five-story pagoda that is a landmark of Nara. There are also many Buddhist sculptures within, which can be seen in the National Treasure Museum.
