The Life-Sized Unicorn Gundam Statue Debuts in Odaiba! A Photo Report from the Spectacular Show
DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, Odaiba, Tokyo. The much anticipated life-sized Unicorn Gundam statue was officially open to the public on September 24, 2017.
Without wasting a second, the DiGJAPAN! team promptly went to check it out. Here is a photo report of the Life-Sized Unicorn Gundam Statue.
If you're planning to go see the statue in Odaiba, I especially recommend the night show. It's 2-5 minutes long and takes places every 30 minutes, every day from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.
The show features part of the transformation from Unicorn Mode to Destroy mode. Various components of the statue's body actually move and 50 parts of the body light up with the transformation. You can see the splitting of the horn, the transformation of the head piece and other movements in its shoulders, back and knees.
During daytime, the transformation is about 1 minute long and it goes on 4 times a day. The head transformation is particularly worth the view! The body parts also light up. The daytime exhibition is shorter than the night one, so make sure you have your camera ready to catch the best moment!

On September 24, the first day it was opened to the public, I went to the Unicorn Gundam statue's very first show at 11:00am. A lot of fans were eagerly waiting. When 11 finally came, we all witnessed the first transformation from Unicorn Mode to Destroy Mode with great excitement.
I took a lot of pictures, but that will never replace the experience of seeing the real thing. Don't miss the chance to see Unicorn Gundam up close with its impressive and beautiful display. Definitely take a trip to Odaiba and go see it for yourself.

The Night Exhibition - a Stunning Transformation and Lighting Show
The Unicorn Gundam statue has replaced the old life-sized replica of Amuro Ray's iconic Gundam suit. It's 19.7m (approx. 64.5ft) tall and when it lights up at night it looks even taller.If you're planning to go see the statue in Odaiba, I especially recommend the night show. It's 2-5 minutes long and takes places every 30 minutes, every day from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.

Visiting Gundam During the Day: Admire the Fine Details
Needless to say, the daytime show has a completely different atmosphere than the night one. You really get a feel for how big Unicorn Gundam would be if it existed in our world. Seeing it from afar, you'll find yourself gazing dreamily at the handsome silhouette. Don't Forget to Take a Picture from the Photo Deck
For a limited time, a photo deck is currently set up in the Symbol Promenade Park of Festival Plaza at DiverCity Tokyo Plaza. The deck is right in front of the statue. From here you can take pictures of Gundam with your own camera. You can also get a photo taken by a professional photographer and printed on a special frame for 1,500 yen.The photo deck is available from August 26, 2017 to November 26, 2017 from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
My Recommendation for a Bonus Photo Spot
