Sleep With a Giant Snorlax in Apartment Hotel Mimaru's Pokémon Room!
Who would have thought that a hotel room was a good place to catch Pokémon? This is true for Apartment Hotel Mimaru, a new hotel chain with several branches in Tokyo and Kyoto. These hotels have "Pokémon rooms" where you can immerse yourself in the world of Pokémon. Follow us as we explore one of them!
Since we booked the Pokémon room, some presents were waiting for us at the check-in! An original Pokémon pouch and two towels. An excellent choice of items, we thought, both useful and cute. We couldn't wait to see our room!
The mystery was quickly solved as we were presented with the view of a gigantic Snorlax idly snoozing on our bed. The squashy bed looked comfy and we felt like napping with Snorlax forever.
Upon a closer look we noticed a Pikachu on one of Snorlax's feet. This is an original welcome card available only to people who stay here. Yay!
The Snorlax plush is definitely the highlight of the room. You can move it aroud, take pictures with it...it's hard to tell how big it is from an image, but we tried to show you the scale in the picture below. That's a 2 seater couch he's sitting on!
This Pokémon room is very spacious. The 38 square meter space contains Hollywood twin beds and bunk beds. Perfect for a stay with the family or to catch some Pokémon with a group of friends.
We loved the little details like the Poké Ball clock and the Pikachu in the mirror. For a fan of the series this is really a world you can immerse yourself in!
All the rooms at Hotel Mimaru Hatchobori are equipped with a kitchen and dining space. Appliances and tools are from the loved Japanese brand Muji. Here you can relax and cook like you're in your own home, and really feel like you're living in Japan.
As Pokémon room guests we get to use these ultra-cute plates and mugs with a Poké Ball design. We also enjoyed our meals on our personal Poké Ball table.
