Winter time in Japan is filled with fun and beautiful events like Christmas, New Year's and Valentine's Day. In this list you'll find 5 of the best illumination shows that Tokyo has to offer this winter!
600,000 bright blue LED lights illuminate the tree-lined road, creating a serene, fairytale-like scenery. The 'Blue Cave' stretches for about 800 m from Shibuya Koen Dori Street to Yoyogi Park Keyaki Namiki. It is a very popular spot with a magical atmosphere visited by many people every year.

During the winter time the rooftop on the 6th floor of Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku gets illuminated by 16,000 lightbulbs. Enjoy a soothing, warm light surrounded by trees in the middle of Tokyo. Until December 25th there will also be a Christmas tree on the first floor. This is the perfect spot to wind down after a day of shopping. The illumination goes on until Valentine's day!

2017 is Caretta Shiodome's 15th anniversary. This year's illumination is inspired by the Disney movie "Beauty and the Beast". Together with the beautiful illumination show, visitors will enjoy Beauty and the Beast-inspired photo spots and interactive displays.

With the theme "Cherry Blossom Romance", 500,000 lightbulbs will ornate the Hanayashiki amusement park in Asakusa for an atmosphere completely different than during the day.
The heart-shaped photo corner in front of the merry-go-round changes between 5 colors and there's a fountain show 6 times a day. You can also admire the night landscape of Asakusa from the rooftop.

After its debut in October 2017, The Life-Sized Unicorn Gundam Statue in Odaiba is a super-popular spot inside and outside the country. The night show with music, video and lights on the statue is a spectacle well worth seeing. The surroundings of Diver City Tokyo Plaza are also illuminated, and they make for the perfect night stroll.
