Winter illuminations in Tokyo can be enjoyed for a long period, from before Christmas until around Valentine's Day. Gold, blue, pink, every place has a different atmosphere and color. Come with us as we introduce the most beautiful spots to see the lights in popular tourist hubs like Shibuya, Omotesando, Roppongi, and Odaiba.
600,000 bright blue LED lights illuminate the tree-lined road, creating a serene, fairytale-like scenery. The 'Blue Cave' stretches for about 800 m from Shibuya Koen Dori Street to Yoyogi Park Keyaki Namiki. It is a very popular spot with a magical atmosphere visited by many people every year.

Up on the 6th floor of Tokyu Plaza Omotesando Harajuku, the rooftop terrace "Omohara no Mori" is lit by over 16,000 lights throughout the year. The theme and design are changed each season with the Christmas theme starting on November 2nd. The space is filled with trees, providing a soothing natural oasis in the middle of the metropolis.

One of the best spots for illuminations in Tokyo, Caretta Shiodome is performing a special illumination inspired by the world of Disney's Aladdin. You'll find the magic lamp by the main tree at the center of the venue. Also, the special illuminations accompanied by the songs "A Whole New World" and "Speechless" are a must-see!

At Tokyo Midtown, "Starlight Garden 2019" is on display starting from November 26th, 2019. In addition to about 190,000 LED lights and 100 glowing balloons, a fantastic universe is represented by an 8 meter tall space tower and the use of soap bubbles.
The limited time soap bubble show will use glittering crystal soap bubbles and smoke soap bubbles. The smoke bubbles are harder to pop if touched with raised fabric like knitted wool gloves, so you might be able to capture them in your hands!

Odaiba VenusFort
Inside VenusFort at Odaiba you'll find a medieval Europe cityscape with a wonderful view. Warm color illuminations and mirror balls projecting light into a snow effect create a magical atmosphere. The fountain hosts a snow-falling show called "SNOW WISH" three times a day.
Olive Plaza hosts an art installation by teamLab called "The Tree of Resonating Colors of Life". When you touch a sphere its color changes, and a tone that's different for each color will resonate.

From this spot you can get a view of the Daiba Memorial Tree, the Rainbow Bridge and the lights of the metropolis at night. Odaiba Illumination "YAKEI" is a 200m long area lined by trees that are lit by 220,000 lights. Among them is the massive Daiba Memorial Tree which is 20m high and 10m wide. The illuminations have a special winter version.

After its debut in October 2017, The Life-Sized Unicorn Gundam Statue in Odaiba is a super-popular spot inside and outside the country. The night show with music, video and lights on the statue is a spectacle well worth seeing. The surroundings of Diver City Tokyo Plaza are also illuminated, and they make for the perfect night stroll.

600,000 shining blue LED lights brighten this street in Shibuya
